UT Tyler goes 2-0 against UT Dallas on Monday

An offensive explosion led UT Tyler to wins of 10-0 and 13-1 over UT Dallas at the UT Tyler Softball Field on Monday afternoon.

Allison Hurt knocked in two runs on a triple to center field and scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the second to put the Patriots up 4-0.

The Patriots scored six runs in the third. Amanda Busby and Whitney Wyly each drove in two runs. Megan Hutson and Taylor Petrick scored in the inning an on error.

Kimber Bossom earned her seventh win of the season, allowing no runs on four hits in five innings pitched.

The Patriots set a school record in game two with four home runs in the bottom of the first.

Hurt and Joey Cronin led off the inning with back-to-back shots. Brittanni Hanna and Petrick added home runs later in the six run inning.

The Patriots added three runs in the second and third inning, and their last in the fourth. Ashley Klores, Rachael Roeten, Hanna and Busby picked up RBI's in the innings.

Stacy Shepherd stayed undefeated, picking up her eighth win of the season. Shepherd gave up one run on one hit, a home run in the first, and struck out three.

The Patriots improve to 15-1 on the season, and face their toughest challenge on Thursday when they face American Southwest Conference foe Louisiana College in Pineville, La.
