University webstore offers discounted software

Brand-name software is available through the University webstore at discounted prices to students, faculty and staff.

"Once you graduate or are not enrolled, you can't get it anymore," Tim Crouch, associate director of networks and operations, said.

HiEd.com, which is the host site of the software store, is an education-authorized reseller that started in 1993.

To get the University contracted pricing, go to https://webstore.hied.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/UTTYRetail navigate to the "Hot Deals" area.

Click on the link titled "Student, Faculty & Staff software & University Contract special pricing."

"I used the webstore to purchase Microsoft Office 2010," Annaliza Gideon, an education major, said.

Each student can only purchase one copy of each version of the Microsoft and Adobe products offered on HiEd.com, Crouch said.

The webstore offers software in both MAC and PC for:

  • Adobe Acrobat 9
  • Adobe Design Collection Premium CS5
  • Adobe Design Collection Standard CS5
  • Adobe Master Collection CS5
  • Adobe Production Collection Premium CS5
  • Adobe Web Collection Premium CS5
  • Adobe Photoshop Extended CS5
  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS5
  • UT Mathematica 7
  • MATHCAD V15

The webstore offers software in PC only for:

  • Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2010
  • Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
  • Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (Full & Upgrade)
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (Upgrade)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP3 (Downgrade)

The webstore offers software in MAC only for:

  • Adobe Web Standard CS4
  • Microsoft Office 2008 SP2

Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2010 retails for $499.99 on Microsoft's Web site, but the HiEd.com University contract price is only $33.

Abode Master Collection retails on Adobe's Web site for $2,599, but the HiEd.com University contract price is $649.

The HiEd.com webstore also offers non-discounted software and products, such as flash drives, still cameras, antivirus software and printers.
