The University Student Concerns Committee provides referral services and aids in information gathering for students who are worried about a threat to themselves or others on campus.

The SCC is a proactive administrative committee designed to manage crises more efficiently by facilitating communication between the various University departments that address concerns on campus.

“The committee can provide a course of action for faculty or staff to follow regarding a concerning issue, or the committee may refer the issue to student services, University police or the University’s disciplinary process,” David Hill, director of residence life and judicial affairs said.

Students can inform the committee of a risk to themselves or another student through the SCC website at https://www.uttyler.edu/utsforms/incident_report.html.

Although the SCC is specifically for students, other members of the community can address their concerns on campus through the Office of Residence Life and Judicial Affairs.

Counseling for a crisis can be found at the Student Counseling Center as well as the University Campus Police.
