University President Rod Mabry earlier this month announced a management restructuring he said should allow him more time to work on fundraising, to work with the legislature and UT System.
Dr. Peter Fos is now Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. Gregg Lassen becomes Executive Vice President for Business Affairs. Mabry said the two leaders will handle more of the day-to-day activities and decisions for the University.
“I am very confident of both of the individuals. EVP Peter Fos, after just one year, has proven to be an impressive academic leader.,” Mabry said. “In like fashion, we have benefited from EVP Gregg Lassen’s wealth of business and industry experience and his obvious love of students and the concept of liberal learning,” Mabry said in an campus-wide e-mail.
Vice President Jerre Iverson will continue to work closely with and report directly to Mabry. Dr. Howard Patterson, Vice president of Student Affairs and Dr. Sherri Watley, who became Vice President for Learning Technology and Chief Information Officer, will report to Lassen. Dr. Arlene Horne has been promoted to Vice President for Research and Federal Relations. She will report to Fos.
Susan Thomae-Morphew also has been promoted to Executive Director of the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. She will report to Iversen.
