University students have the opportunity to participate in the third-annual Student Research Support Program.
The program offers ten graduate and ten undergraduate research awards for the 2011 spring semester.
Applications-which must be submitted by 5 p.m. Nov. 22-can be found online at: http://www.uttyler.edu/research/srg/2011/src-2011.html.
Each $500 award goes to fund student research projects, and faculty members who supervise the research receive $300.
Students may apply for funding in any field of research, and the funds may be used to cover any project-related expenses.
The University's Research Council members plan to evaluate applications based on the research topic, proposal quality and faculty adviser commitment.
Students who complete the project must submit an adviser-approved, one-page summary and present their findings at a poster conference in April.
