Student Government Association officials unanimously voted to pass their 2009-2010 fiscal year budget last week. Budget numbers increased from $29,972 in 2008-2009 to $30,461 for the fiscal year.
The budget allocated $10,000, which is the same from a year ago, to the Student Government Appropriations Committee. The committee allows registered student organizations to request funds for their organizations with a few guidelines.
The SGA increased the training amount from $4,000 last year to $4,400 for this year’s budget. This includes seminars and all of the printed material for each member of the executive board and the elected council members.
The budget includes more than $19,000 in maintenance and operations costs, including office supplies, SGA training and a toga party. The SGA allocated $2,000 for next year’s pool party, $1,600 for a toga party and $1,200 for project allocations, a fund set up to finance SGA approved improvements on campus.
