Role Models

Running Time: 101 Minutes

Price: $16.86 for DVD and $25.32 for Blu-Ray.

Rating: R for crude and sexual content, strong language and nudity.

Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott play Danny and Wheeler, respectively, who are both energy drink salesmen.

Danny realizes his life isn’t going the way he planned and decides to defy the police – and physics – when he tries to drive his truck off the back of a tow truck. Danny and Wheeler both get sentenced to 150 hours of community service or 30 years in prison.

The duo chose to complete community service with Sturdy Wings, a mentoring program, and the mayhem ensues. The young boy Wheeler mentors is crude and intolerable, while Danny mentors a young man who likes to live in a medieval fantasyland more than reality.

Danny and Wheeler both mess up their relationships with the kids because of their inexperience and soon come to realize how rewarding their experiences have been while working in the program and try to mend their relationships they have formed with the kids.

This movie is hilarious, and quotable, and has the same feel as “Superbad” and “40-Year-Old Virgin.” The jokes are raunchy and crude, but the movie stays away from disgusting its audience with extremely graphic dialogue.

“Role Models” is a classic “college movie” and is sure to be in the movie collections of many young adults. Rudd and Scott are great in their roles, even though their characters probably resemble their lives in some ways.

Special Features: Deleted/Alternate scenes, bloopers, “On the Set of Role Models” featurette, “Game On: Creating a Role Playing World” featurette, and “In Characters & Off Script” featurette.

The special features are great and abundant. There are many deleted and alternate scenes and the bloopers are hilarious to watch. There are also three featurettes to make the experience of “Role Models” last even longer.

The funniest featurette is the “In Characters & Off Scripts” featurette because it delves deeper into the characters it follows and is extremely funny.

The feature film receives four out of five stars rating because it is hilarious, and the special features receive four of out five stars rating because they were entertaining and informative.
