Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are back for the first half of the final installment of the phenomenon that swept the world.

The movies based on the hit books written by J.K. Rowling head to their dramatic end with the final movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1," releasing in two parts.

Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Granger (Emma Watson) return after the dramatic death of Hogwarts' headmaster Albus Dumbledore. The story line of the last movie, "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince," continues with the trio tracking down the remaining Horcruxes.

The movie does not disappoint moviegoers with special effects and action, but the plot remains dark throughout. Although "Deadly Hallows, Part 1" takes a different tone from the other movies, the plot is fairly dark at times, the characters did well to lighten the mood.

In this film, Grint continues to entertain audiences with a few funny quips placed throughout, but the plot overbears the small attempts at humor.
I personally enjoyed the movie although I could have done without the two-and-a-half hours of watching the heroes continuously getting beaten.

The special effects and the basic script made following the plot easy, even for those who had never seen the series before.
For true fans and those craving over-the-top special effects and action, "Deathly Hallows" is worth going to theaters.

However, to those on the fence, I say wait until it's a rental. By then, Part 2 will be in theaters, and you won't have to wait six months for a happy ending.
