PITTSBURGH - The University's men's and women's tennis teams saw their seasons come to an end in the NCAA Regional round May 13-15. The men's tournament took place in Pittsburgh, Pa., the women's in Claremont, Calif.

Women

The women's team dominated its first round opponent Whitworth. The Patriots took all three doubles matches. Lauren Giovaninni and Brittany Trich sealed the victory with two singles wins. The win for Giovaninni moved her into first place all-time in singles wins with 60 at the University.

On day two, the women faced seventh ranked Pomona-Pitzer and fell 5-2.

The Patriots dropped two of the three doubles matches. Emily McRae and Sydni Hermsdorf defeated Nicole Holsted and Emily Kawahara 8-6.

Giovaninni picked up the Patriots second point in singles play, beating Jessica Hsu 6-1, 6-0.

The team finished the season ranked 27th in the ITA/Campbell's poll with a 17-4 record.
