Sigma Tau Delta members are accepting submissions for “The Laurel,” a creative writing journal filled every year with original works from University students.

Tina Bausinger, the organization’s president, said interested students may submit up to ten essays, poems, cover designs or short stories with 2,500 words or fewer.

“I hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity,” she said. “We’re really hoping for a lot of submissions this year.”

Entries must be submitted to MaryEllen Holland in Room 237 of the Business Building no later than Nov. 15. A faculty member and two student readers plan to evaluate submissions in each category.

Bausinger said applicants should not put their names on the page containing their work, but should include a separate cover sheet with the title(s) and the author’s name and e-mail address.

“The Laurel” is a project of Epsilon Omega, the University’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society.
