The University’s technology system deserves to be commended. Complaints about difficulties within the University’s websites are a common thing to hear among students. Various system failures are more than frequent. However, one may note a small change recently took place that has made things a bit easier.

Patriots on PeopleSoft was implemented at the start of the 2009 fall semester. The new version of POPS allows students to log into their student e-mail, Blackboard, and POPS accounts all using the same password. This is a wonderful change when compared to the old system, which called for different passwords for student’s e-mail, Blackboard, and campus connect accounts.

This seems a small thing to appreciate. However, in the midst of our otherwise hectic student lives, simple things like identical passwords act as a beacon of hope. As young and busy adults we believe it is important to appreciate the simple things in life like not having to remember so many passwords.

Of course, it is also necessary to give credit where it is due. Thank you University technology system for simplifying our ability to access our student accounts. May this be an encouragement from us to you to keep up your good work. Feel free to provide an easier route any time.
