20 elected for SGA senate Positions

University students chose 20 senators in last week's Student Government Association elections.

Voters elected eight candidates to multiple positions, forcing the candidates to choose their preferred posts. A single seat in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences is currently undecided due to a tie.

The University's Palestine campus remains unrepresented, with no students applying for the two vacant seats.  Longview is left with one senator after Mary Bishop, a write-in candidate elected to a second seat, declined her appointment.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences had three seats available, but intends to add only one representative, Emily Helms, with 40 votes.

The College of Arts and Sciences intends to add representative Amber Amerson with 43 votes and Tiffany Allison with 38 votes.

The College of Business and Technology intends to add representative Michele Strickler with 15 votes.

The College of Education and Psychology intends to add representative Melina Reyes with 22 votes.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science intends to add representatives Travis Parker with 30 votes and Colten Rudd with 7 votes.

The Freshman class intends to add representatives Julie Ann Apoderado with 47 votes, Ericka Sierra with 25 votes, Michael Suarez with 23 votes, Drew White with 21 votes and Jacob Bremer with 18 votes.

Ornelas Hall intends to add representatives Bradley Pennington with 27 votes and Nakia Dupree with 17 votes.

Patriot Village intends to add representatives TJ Sokale with 16 votes and Jori Patterson with 7 votes.

University Pines intends to add representatives Dedrick Weathersby with 12 votes and Addison Gribbin with 9 votes.

The Longview campus intends to add representative Brianna Moure with 1 vote.
