“Baby Mama” Rating: PG-13 99 minutes Price: $17.86 for DVD and $25.86 for Blu-Ray at Wal-Mart.

Kate, played by Tina Fey, is a single 37-year-old businesswoman who wants to have a baby but doesn’t have the means to have one herself. So, she decides to hire a surrogate, who turns out to be an unsophisticated woman named Angie, played by Amy Poehler. After Angie has a fight with her common-law husband, she must move in with Kate and the hilarity ensues. Shorthand: it’s “The Odd Couple” with estrogen.

The special features on this DVD are hilarious. The deleted scenes are surprisingly entertaining and most of them should have been in the actual movie.

In one deleted scene, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler rap while playing Karaoke Revolution. The alternate ending is too perfect, but is interesting to watch nonetheless. The featurettes are a tad bit redundant at times, but are informative, entertaining, and also had adequate running times.

The funniest part of the featurettes is Dax Shepard, who plays Angie’s common-law husband, talking about how closely he resembles his character in the movie.

The feature film earned itself a three out of five star rating and the special features got four out of five stars.

Special Features include: Alternate Ending, Deleted Scenes, “Saturday Night Live: Legacy of Laughter” featurette, “From Conception to Delivery- The Making of ‘Baby Mama’” featurette, and audio commentary from Tina Fey and Director Michael McCullers.
