I don’t know about you, but around this time of year my brain is overworked and I’m almost too fried to function.

As a full-time student nearing the end of the spring semester, my sleeping schedule is off and I often forget about eating at regular mealtimes. The only thing I can think about is finishing up the list of 10 million things I have to do before summer.

The Student Government Association voted last week to endorse a tobacco-free campus policy that received support from students via a survey attached to the spring election ballots.

“We feel that this is a really big issue with funding and health concerns and I think that the University as a whole should move towards(sic) … enacting policies to promote health for our students,” Senator Brakeyshia Samms said.

University students elected Michael Suarez president of the Student Government Association in last week’s spring election.

Suarez will serve for the 2012-2013 term alongside Ryann Warner, who ran a successful write-in campaign for vice president.

Suarez and Warner spent part of election week passing out popsicles and handbills to students across campus.

When the homework load gets unbearably heavy and studying seems impossible, several students have admitted to using prescription stimulants such as Adderall to help them study.

“When I first arrived at UT, I knew that college was going to be tougher here than it was at my previous school, so I decided that I would try and get an Adderall prescription to see if it would help with the workload,” sophomore Patrick Redmond said.

Redmond said he went to the University Health Clinic and told them about his past issues with focusing in school.
