Student Government Appropriations Committee officials announced a co-sponsorship clause added to their current guidelines for the spring semester.
Currently, SGA guidelines do not have a clause stating the co-sponsorship policy.

The co-sponsorship policy allows organizations to collaborate an event, activity or project with another organization and request funding as one unit.
SGA treasurer Andrew Barnson said after three months of intensive revisions getting this policy for the University is beneficial.

The Department of Art and Art History is scheduled to sponsor Senior Art Exhibition 2009 featuring works by University students.

The exhibition held at the Meadows Gallery begins Nov. 23, ending Dec. 18 and will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Participating seniors include Anup Bhandari, John Bradley, Jill Brown, Michael Pianta and Michael Stephen.

The University’s men’s basketball team is off to the best start in program history.

The Patriots opened the season with an 87-55 victory over Southwestern Adventist last Monday.

The winning continued Friday and Saturday in the Fred Jacoby I-20 Tip-off Classic at the Herrington Patriot Center.

The Patriots defeated Jarvis Christian 88-76 Friday and Howard Payne 65-58 Saturday.

The Patriots made the first basket and held the lead the remainder of the game against Southwestern Adventist.

Former Patriots women’s basketball coach Terri Deike is now the senior woman administrator at LeTourneau University in Longview athletics department.
Deike held the same position at the University.

All NCAA Div. III schools are required to have a senior woman administrator on staff. Deike, the University’s first women’s basketball coach, left the University after the non-renewal of her contract in June.

A career in biology naturally involves a meticulous amount of research for any biologist, but for Dr. Blake Bextine and a few student researchers, there is an epidemic that is anything but ordinary research. They are researching the potato psyllid, which is spreading a disease known as Zebra Chip on potatoes in countries all over the world.

The University Student Concerns Committee provides referral services and aids in information gathering for students who are worried about a threat to themselves or others on campus.

The SCC is a proactive administrative committee designed to manage crises more efficiently by facilitating communication between the various University departments that address concerns on campus.
