Two player complaints and a strained relationship with the University’s athletic director may have played a part in the release of former women’s basketball coach Terri Deike, according to documents the Texas Attorney General ordered released.

The Patriot Talon reviewed letters and e-mails detailing specific complaints about Deike’s coaching tactics and documented arguments between Athletic Director James Vilade and Deike.

Student Government Association officials plan to hear questions regarding the issue of the intramural “green space” during their afternoon town hall meeting scheduled for Nov. 11.

“The only thing that was major was the green space on campus,” SGA president Amy Whitehouse said. “I know the administration are looking into some things for change and I hope maybe at the meeting they will address that issue.”

The event is sponsored by the Student Government Association from 11-12:30 p.m. at the University Center ballroom.

Dr. Jon Beckham’s daughter “pies” Dr. Christi Graves with a little help from Dr. David Milan during PI Your Professor on Wednesday afternoon at the Harvey Lake Deck. Participants paid $1 per throw or $2 per throw for a closer throw. The Math Club sponsored the event.

The University’s women’s cross country team captured the first conference championship in program history on Saturday in Clinton, Miss.
Jennifer Waninger once again led the Patriots finishing fourth with a time of 25:44. Her performance earned her a first-team , All-Conference honor, as well as being named the ASC Freshman of the Year.

Dr. Jennifer Courtney looks on in awe at the three-ton pickup parked beside her small car in the faculty parking lot. Since moving to Texas in August, Courtney said she has seen more large trucks than in any other state. Gathering her belongings she begins walking toward Room 202 of the Business Building for another day of working at the Writing Center.
