Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” is perhaps the most widely known Christmas story of all time. It’s been done and redone so many times I find myself suffering from “bah-humbug” fatigue before Christmas even arrives.

Even having seen most, if not all, versions of “A Christmas Carol,” I still was not prepared for what awaited me.

When Disney brought out their version of A Christmas Carol they sold it as a very kid-friendly, cool, 3D version written and produced by “Polar Express” director Robert Zemeckis.

Christmas is only 18 days away, and I haven’t begun my shopping yet!

It’s not that I don’t enjoy shopping because I really do. In fact, my kids have nicknamed me Discount Diva for my innate ability to find a bargain.

I’m proud to proclaim my excuse this year is a lack of free time due to an over-abundance of homework.

How many 55-year-old women do you know who can make that claim? LOL!

“A day that shall live in infamy.”

A single day in history marking a milestone in creating the world as we know it.

I disagree with the media’s attack on former presidential hopeful, Gov. Mike Huckabee. Also, had I been in charge of Maurice Clemmons’ request for clemency, it would have been denied.

Clemmons “was a person of interest” for the shooting in a coffee shop in Washington State that left four police officers dead.

Talk about a close call!

I’ll set the scene for you. It’s the last day of Thanksgiving break and I’m driving back to Tyler from Fort Worth. I’m wearing my comfy sweat pants and my soft Batman t-shirt. I have a Gatorade in my cup holder and a collection of embarrassing music playing on the stereo that I only jam out to when I’m alone. Right now “Mama Mia” is blasting at full volume.

Monday

The Mountaineers stiffled the Patriots usual fast paced offense and suffocated the paint in the first half.

The Patriots struggled to get off good shots and missed their last seven of the first half.

The Mountaineers took a 32-22 lead at the half, due in large part to a 10-0 run.
