The University volleyball team regularly digs and kills during a match, and on Oct. 25, digging and killing will benefit a good cause.

The Patriots will “dig for the cure” at their home match against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Oct. 25, which is scheduled to start at1 p.m.

The players are currently collecting pledges for the number of digs made during the match. All pledges, proceeds and donations will be given straight to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation, which helps raise awareness for and fund research in the fight against breast cancer.

The Patriots also will wear pink ribbons in their hair and on their shoes to promote awareness of the disease that will strike an estimated 184,450 women and men in the U.S. this year alone.

For more information or to make a pledge, contact head coach Kristee Phelps at (903) 565-5603, or kphelps@uttyler.edu.
